Trumpington Local History Group
The next meeting of the Trumpington Local History Group will be on Thursday 10 December at 7pm (please note the earlier start time). Edmund Brookes and Howard Slatter will give a presentation on the history of Trumpington based on the late Percy Robinson’s original 1920s lantern slide lecture.
Percy Robinson was head teacher at the church school, Trumpington, from 1908 until his death in 1943. He built up an extensive knowledge of Trumpington and, with the help of the Trustees of the Village Hall, had a set of ‘magic lantern’ slides made to show various things of interest in, or connected with, Trumpington. The slides were first shown in 1924 and give a fascinating insight into life in Trumpington a century ago.
The meeting will be held in the Eva Hartree Hall at the Clay Farm Centre. All are welcome, admission £2.50.
