Trumpington Brownies

The highlight of the summer term was a sleepover in Duxford. In keeping with the theme chosen by the Brownies, there were lots of games, activities and crafts related to woodland animals. Favourites were decorating cupcakes as owls (and then having those for pudding) and a campfire with singing. The pirate song was heard on repeat for the rest of the sleepover!

The Brownies have now completed the Skills for My Future theme from the Girlguiding programme. The final activities included road safety, thinking about skills required for different jobs, chopping and grating vegetables and cheese to make fajitas, and using hammers and screwdrivers. We’ve also completed Girlguiding Anglia’s Civil Engineering challenge badge: we made bridges from drinking straws, practised communication skills and built shelters.

The rest of the term saw us having a campfire with singing and s’mores, and for our last meeting of the term, an ice cream hike.
