Trumpington Brownies
22 February is World Thinking Day, a day when members of Girlguiding across the world celebrate being part of an international movement dedicated to empowering girls and young women. This year marked the 100th anniversary of the first World Thinking Day. To celebrate, the Brownies met with other local Rainbows, Brownies and Guides for an afternoon of fun activities about friendship and wellbeing.
At the end of the afternoon, everyone sang campfire songs around a giant artwork they had created together that represented Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and their equivalents from around the world.
Other highlights last term were making no-bake-brownie (!) mixture and an outing to ClipnClimb. This term the Brownies will be completing their Skills for My Future theme award, working on activities for a badge devised by the Institute of Civil Engineers, and getting outside for a campfire and an ice cream hike. The excitement’s also building for a squirrel-themed sleepover!
We have spaces for girls aged 7-10 years and would love to welcome some new Brownies. We’re also always glad to hear from anyone interested in volunteering. Please get in touch at browniestrumpington@gmail.com for more information.
