Trumpington Residents' Association

The TRA marked the festive season by supporting two events at the Clay Farm Centre - we provided mince pies and volunteers for the Christmas event on 13 December and more mince pies for the morning of 29 December. As the cost-of-living crisis bites ever harder, free events such as these (plus the Trumpington Meadows Winter Wonderland on 5 December, the parish church’s Christmas Tree Festival on 13 and 14 December, and others) offer struggling families a rare opportunity to celebrate at no cost.

As chair of the TRA, I was also honoured to do one of the readings in the parish church’s candle-lit ‘Nine lessons and carols’ service. However, much of the important work of the TRA takes place out of the public gaze. This includes ongoing communication with developers, Network Rail and City and County councils about:

  • Cambridge South West Travel Hub, which will impact residents of Trumpington Meadows
  • Cambridge South Station, including minimising the impact on Hobson’s Park
  • The adoption of roads in Clay Farm and Glebe Farm
  • and many more matters

Our next meeting will be our AGM, on Wednesday 25 March at 7.30pm in the Clay Farm Centre (in the Byron and Chaplen Rooms, upstairs on the first floor). All members welcome.
